Whitney Port Sells her Clothing on thredUP for a Cause
Under embargo until Friday, 9/15 at 8:30am ET
thredUP, the world’s largest online thrift store, is selling reality star Whitney Port’s clothing from before and during her pregnancy to support Every Mother Counts. Whitney has shared intimate experiences during her pregnancy, and now she’s letting go of the clothing that no longer suits her new body and evolving style as a new mom. 100% of proceeds will be donated to Every Mother Counts, and thredUP will match every dollar.
Whitney says,
“Some people have been asking me what I’m doing to drop the baby weight. And I’m thinking, ‘Lay off people, I just made a human!’ Honestly, I’m feeling more confident than ever, and I’m just rejecting the idea that I have to bounce back to a certain size. So, today I’m selling some of my pre-pregnancy clothes on thredUP.com to make room in my closet for clothes that fits my changing body and new lifestyle. I’m also selling some super cute clothes I wore throughout my pregnancy. I’m excited that the proceeds from this sale will benefit Every Mother Counts, and thredUP.com will match every dollar raised.”
In the shop, Whitney shares memories from a few special pieces, and offers fans her expert fashion perspective. Several items are recognizable from special moments in Whitney’s life, such as the gorgeous Elizabeth and James floral kimono she wore to her baby shower.
Whitney’s shop is the second in thredUP’s new “Shop Her Closet” series, where notable women sell their clothes for good. Prices in her shop range from a pair of H&M printed pajama-style pants for $21.99, to Whitney’s LOVE Binetti jacket for $322.
thredUP will match the amount Whitney raises to maximize the impact of the sale and help mothers around the globe. Click here to learn more about how thredUP does good in the community day-to-day.
