February 16, 2026 (Oakland, CA. and Los Angeles, CA) – Closet Factory, leading the industry in custom closet design, today announced a Clean Out resale program that allows customers to give their gently-worn items a second life while supporting charitable causes. For items that sell on ThredUp, Closet Factory donates the proceeds to Dress for Success, a global nonprofit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing professional attire, career development tools, and ongoing support.
The program is powered by ThredUp’s Resale-as-a-Service® (RaaS®), which enables the world's leading fashion brands and retailers to deliver customizable, scalable resale experiences to their customers. Closet Factory joins more than 50 other brands offering resale programs through RaaS, including J.Crew, Tommy Hilfiger, and Madewell.
“At Closet Factory, we help people rethink how their homes work for them. This partnership with ThredUp is a natural extension of that. When we design a new closet, we now have a simple, built-in way to help customers clear out what they no longer need and give those items a second life, rather than sending them to landfills. Just as important, this program supports organizations that help women entering the workforce take confident steps forward. It is a practical extension of what we do every day at Closet Factory, helping people create better, more intentional spaces, and we are proud to launch it with ThredUp,” said Jeff Henderson, President of Closet Factory President.
Through the new program, customers can easily declutter their closets while making a positive impact. To participate, customers can fill a Closet Factory x ThredUp Clean Out bag with apparel, shoes, and accessories from any brand in their closet, and ship it to ThredUp for free.
